As a Church, we are here for you through all stages of life.
Getting Baptised
In Baptism - whether for children or adults - it is about discovering God's love for you. We cherish being at the start of that journey and hopefully continuing to see you through our toddler music class and other services throughout the year.
Getting Married
Weddings are about celebrating the love between a couple, and God's support and blessing of their marriage. Here at Church of the Ascension, we are delighted to share in that time with you, your friends and family. To get married here, you do not need to live locally or even have a connection with the Parish, the site Your Church Wedding | The Church of England is a great resource to find out more about getting married in church.
Same sex marriage is unfortunately currently not allowed under the Church of England but we look forward to the day we can celebrate all God's children. If you wish to marry your partner in church we advise you to contact your local Methodist Church and we can offer the Church of England's 'Prayers of Love and Faith', please contact us if you wish to use these in your service or wish to discuss any further.
Funerals
When planning a loved one's funeral, it is a time that can take it's toll, and we are there to guide, support and ensure this process is as easy as possible for those remaining. We want to celebrate those that have left us in a way that is unique and special to us, and all ministry will ensure the service is meaningful.
If you wish to discuss booking any life events at Church of The Ascension please contact our Parish Administrator, Lindsey Poulding, who will be happy to assist. Our church hall is also available for hire after your celebration, with a full kitchen facilities.
